A 42.2km road marathon through central Cape Town and its coastal scenery, starting from either Fritz Sonnenberg Road or Beach Road in Mouille Point according to seeding, and finishing on Vlei Road.
The map uses the stadium-side start on Fritz Sonnenberg Road. Your assigned start may instead be on Beach Road.
Participants must be at least 18 on race day. In 2027, Cape Town becomes Africa's first and the eighth Abbott World Marathon Major.
The general ballot ran from June 10 to June 24, 2026 and is closed. International runners can still check official charity and tour-operator entry options.
