Autumn Is Coming,
but 150 km Is Slipping Away

It was still a humid, summer-like night, but the path was suddenly full of runners preparing for autumn races. Among them, I steadily worked through 10.8 km.

On the routeRunners preparing for autumn races

On the night of August 27, I steadily worked through 10.8 km. I went out after dark, but summer did not seem ready to clock off; the air was still heavy with humidity. I focused less on speed and more on completing the distance, one step at a time.

There were noticeably more runners on the path. Autumn and race days are getting closer, and everyone seems to be sharpening their training. I may not know their names, but the familiar runners I keep passing are always good to see. We are chasing different goals on the same night road, and that feels quietly reassuring.

Final columnNews from the shoe rack

The shoe I reach for most these days is the Brooks Glycerin 22. My watch is the COROS PACE 3, and my socks are RITU running socks. Reaching 150 km in August now looks unlikely unless I run 30 km over the weekend, but that does not erase the 10.8 km I completed today.
