200 Slipped Away.
179.71 Stayed.
The 200 km attempt fell short, but I gained 179.71 km. It is disappointing, yet the number is not the only answer. I carved runs out of busy days, and considering the days I could not run, it was still a fine month.

September's final jog covered 11.02 km. The month ends with 17 workouts, 26 hours 33 minutes, and 179.71 km in total. I finished 20.29 km short of the 200 km target, so by the number alone the attempt failed. But the calendar held more than numbers: there were busy days and days when running simply was not possible.
I still carved out time to run. I missed 200, but gained 179.71. The shortfall is disappointing, yet the number is not the only answer. Considering the days I could not run, this was still a fine month of running. That is not lowering the target for comfort; it is giving the distance actually run its proper weight before closing September.

October is effectively the final training month before my first marathon. I need one 32 km run early in the month, but a race in the middle makes the timing awkward once recovery is included. Rather than squeezing it in carelessly, I am watching for the best window between the race and how my body feels.
