Even on a Reluctant Night,
a Promise Puts on Running Shoes
After little sleep, my energy was at rock bottom, while the kimchi stew and steamed eggs were somehow excellent. My promise to myself remained, so at 10:30 p.m. I slowly stepped outside.

I did not sleep properly the night before. My body felt terrible, and my mood was somehow a little worse. I really, truly did not want to run. Mileage, however, says nothing, and a promise can be quietly persistent.
I finally went outside at 10:30 p.m. The kimchi stew and steamed eggs had tasted especially good that evening, and my body rolled along slowly. I ran when I could and walked when it became too hard. It was not a perfect workout, but it was enough to carry me into the next one.

Today's shoes were the Brooks Glycerin 22. The watch was a COROS PACE 3, the socks were simply the first pair I grabbed, and the cap was a generously sized 62. Tomorrow is packed too, but I have decided to trust the modest power of getting it done.
